PurpleOne Partner Requirements

Our Standards Help Protect Victims' Safety

PurpleOne's requirements for Partners keep victims' safety at the forefront. Because our Partners agree to and adhere to these requirements and the PurpleOne Standards of Excellence, victims can rest assured that they will be assisted by domestic violence professionals as they walk away from domestic violence and toward their future freedom.

In order to be licensed as a PurpleOne Partner and maintain their PurpleOne Partner status, Partners must meet or exceed the following expectations:

To Receive a Licensing as a PurpleOne Partner:

  • Applicant must be recognized by their state's domestic violence coalition and offer comprehensive domestic violence services or have a Memorandum of Understanding with another partner to provide these comprehensive services. Comprehensive services must include: emergency shelter, a 24-hour hotline, counseling, support groups and advocacy. Domestic violence agencies open with fewer than 5 years' experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Public search does not uncover that the organization, designee or a member of the organization’s leadership is on public record as being convicted of any charges of assault, stalking, other domestic violence-related charges or any criminal act as outlined in Section 2 of the Reporting of Matters related to Recipient Integrity and Performance of the Office of Violence Against Women as found here: https://www.justice.gov/ovw/file/870606/download.
